My FIRST post! --- The "Blizzard" of 2011

How fitting that my first post is about the blizzard that passed thru the Midwest. Hmmm.. we've been here for 10 yrs and this is the biggest snow storm since '79.. After living in NJ for about 4 or 5 yrs, they had the worst snow storm in about 20 yrs.. Am I seeing a pattern here? All in all, we survived, and it IS winter..

Because it is winter, I really can't complain about the cold and snow.  After all, isn't that what winter is all about? The beef I have is that my hubby got stuck @ work overnite due to management missing in action to make some much needed COMMON SENSE decisions.. So, the lil' one and I weathered the storm without the hubby.. Needless to say, we weren't sure if hubby would even be home today let alone when, which meant I had snow removal duty. Normally, hubby and I tackle this together which makes a world of difference and allows things to move more quickly.. With no hubby and the amount of snow that was waiting when I opened the garage door.. let's just say I think I got my workout done for the next week.  In total, I was outside clearing up for about 6  hours.. I had the lil' one "help" me here and there as I didn't want to keep him out in the cold for too long, and he had a blast! He was smiling from ear to ear when he was able to sit on top of the pile of snow.

Hubby finally made it home, safe and sound. We did the happy dance when we heard him drive up.  Alas, the plows were finally able to start working on the side streets in our area this afternoon and did a first round right before hubby drove up. Their next two rounds put up new walls of snow at the end of our driveway, so more clean up to be done... BUT because hubby was home, we had fun as we cleared the rest of the snow...

We are all pooped.. Hubby and the lil guy are sound asleep.. and here I am relaxing, trying to decide which stamp sets to order and blog hopping being amazed at the tremendous talent I see.. I'm so thankful for all the wonderful people who take the time to make and post their creations some with step by step info, others with videos. I can imagine how time consuming this can be, and I am so thankful  for all that these individuals do :O)

I guess I should go order those stamps.. I will so be looking forward to getting them... Whose stamp sets are your favorite and why??
